Fair Share
The Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), our national advocacy organization, is sustained by membership fees and donations and it relies on TRiO employees for funding known as Fair Share. This campaign takes place at three levels: an institution's membership in COE (both UAA and UAF pay a membership fee), program membership in our regional organization (ie. NAEOP) and personal donations.
List-Servs
One way for TRIO staff to stay connected with their peers within the region and country is to subscribe to the regional NAEOP list-serv and the national TRiO list-serv.
Priority Trainings
Department of Education recommends five priority trainings for TRIO employees. These are valuable for new employees or seasoned professionals. While some trainings require travel, others are offered via webinar. Visit the US Department of Education's Website for a list of the priority trainings and current offerings.
Leadership Opportunities
Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI):
The NAEOP Emerging Leaders Institute is a yearlong leadership development program that is designed to inspire, to help individuals grow personally and professionally, and to cultivate strong leadership within NAEOP and its participating State Associations. The program is designed to combine professional development, networking opportunities, and hands-on experiences to ensure successful continuation of NAEOP. Every year, approximately two ELI participants are selected from participating NAEOP (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington) states.
The application is now available on the new NAEOP webpage: https://naeoptrio.org/eli-application/
